I was
blessed to be introduced to KOTOHA London, a prestige natural beauty brand based
in London. I have always admired the youthful skin of Japanese’s women; with
their clear porcelain glowing complexion and have read and even tried to implement
some of their skincare routines. So I’m for ever grateful to Yoko who kindly
gifted me some of her skincare products to try and from the get go I’m telling
you they are amazing.
KOTOHA was established
in 2015 by founder and owner Yoko Obata. Yoko herself suffered with problem
skin through her teens and early adulthood. With a degree in fine arts, experience
working with Japanese’s pharmaceutical company Yoko always had an interest in cosmetic
ingredients. After moving to the UK and completing her masters in fine arts,
Yoko went on to study beauty therapy and started to incorporate natural herbal
ingredients into her own skin care routine which soon started to show obvious
results. With encouragement from family, friends and private clients Yoko has develop
these products into her revolutionary brand, KOTOHA Cosmetics London.
KOTOHA London
product range includes skincare and haircare that rely on ‘Shoyaku’, Japanese for
‘active medicinal herbs’. All products are formulated with a combination of
oriental herbs from countries such as China, Japan or Korea. Knowing
exactly which herbs to choose, and the true understanding of active ingredients
and the right formulations, KOTOHA brings you a line of high quality cosmetic
products that are created from ancient wisdom from the Far East, that are
develop to target areas of concern providing you radiant looking skin.
KOTOHA Shoyaku Herb Essence Moist Water
Unlike any
other toner, this Moist Water is jam packed with ‘magical’ shoyaku (oriental
medicinal herbs) including Ginseng and Peonia Lactifolia and is not used
in the traditional sense; this is moisturizing water, not a wipe-off toner.
Applied using a generous amount of Moist Water on to cotton pad, gently and
thoroughly pat all over the face and neck until you feel a cool sensation. Then
gently press the palms of your hands to the face, this helps penetrate the
lotion into your skin further with the heat from your hands.
KOTOHA Shoyaku Herb Essence Rejuvenation Serum
This serum
contains some powerful ingredients; along with shoyaku herbs there is hyaluronic
acid, antioxidants, vitamin-rich raspberry oil and three humectants to boost the
skin’s water retention. All these ingredients combined help to nourishes and moisturise
dry skin, instantly brightens tired, dull looking skin and plumps drawn sagging
skin.
KOTOHA Shoyaku Herb Essence Anti-Aging Cream
This
anti-aging cream uses two of the finest ingredients available, ginseng extract
and CoEnzymeQ10 along with Kukui nut oil which contains Vitamins A and C
and is high in anti-oxidants there is also rosehip oil, pomegranate oil and hemp
oil making this ideal for mature skin.
I’ve been
using all of the above products for the last four week and found them to be
lightweight in texture and fast absorbing. The packaging is simple, clean no
fussy design and I quite like that. All KOTOHA products are natural and free
from toxic ingredients such as Paraben, SLS, SLES, artificial fragrances and
artificial colours.
I’ve only ever said this once about a product before but I’m saying it again with KOTOHA “You can really feel these products working
deep within the skin layers”, my skin is brighter, softer, smoother, pumped and
moisturized, there’s a reduction in fine lines and those terrible black bags
under my eyes are next to nothing. KOTOHA products have been tested on volunteers for five years and are proven to be
effective and this I can confirm as I can see visible improvement in my skin day after day.
KOTOHA London
is quite a new brand and one I can see going places and deserves every bit of recognition
it receives. I wish Yoko all the best in her new business and will continue to
use her products in my day-to-day skincare routine and of course I would highly recommend their products.
