So let’s take a
quick look at the Beat It palette first.
The packaging looks
and feels a little stronger then the standard W7 packaging with 3D Polk a dot
design. Inside we have 12 eyeshadows a mixture of matt, shimmer and glitter.
All 12 colours are a beautiful mix of natural earthy pink, brown and copper
tones and appropriately
named.
Of course there’s the standard double-ended brush/sponge tip applicator.
As always the
picture on the back of the packaging are never like what the colours look like
inside, so please be aware of this and never judge from the picture alone.
On first swatching
I was wow the pigmentation has greatly improved compared to In The Buff, In TheNude, In The Night and even Lightly Toasted palettes, even the lighter tones showed depth. Another thing I noticed
was the shimmer tones were more a metallic then shimmer especially when used
with a good eye primer.
Big A - a matte cream eyeshadow
Moonshadow - a dull, dark beige eye
shadow with warm undertones
Late Again - frosted, coffee-coloured
dark brown eyeshadow (almost black!)
The Full Monty - a champagne-coloured
eyeshadow with very much loose glitter
Filmstar - a matte, light pink eyeshadow
with a very subtle pearly luster
Candle Light - a warm, champagne-coloured
eyeshadow with golden undertones and shimmer
Loved Up! - a shimmer almost metallic
bronze eyeshadow
Make A Wish - a shimmer/metallic grey
eyeshadow with purple undertones
Teachers Petten – a shimmer/metallic,
taupe eyeshadow with cool undertones
Billboart - a shimmer/metallic, dark
brown eyeshadow with bronze glitter and purple undertones
Loadad - a shimmer/metallic, copper-coloured
eyeshadow with orange undertones
The Gambler - a shimmer/metallic, gold
eyeshadow with warm undertones
With talc listed as the first indigent and judging from the previous palettes there
was no surprise to find the formula powdery but there was something different
about this one I’m not sure what. It felt less gritty, softer yet the listed indigents
are the same, there was definitely less fall-out compared to the others.
Now W7 is well
known for being dupes on other high-end brands, but this one seems to be
stand-alone or one of their own because I just couldn’t find anything that I
could say it defiantly was a dupes for. If you know or have come across
anything, will you please let us know?
