I was a
very lucky girl this year for my birthday, when my sweet, caring mum gave me
some money, telling me to go out and get some nice make-up that I could use and
write about on my blog.
So a Big
THANK YOU MUM.
When I got
back home to Dublin, I just knew if I didn’t hit a cosmetic counter quickly. I
would end up spending the money on something else, or worse putting it towards
those dreaded utility bills. A trip to my local chemist who offer a great range
of skin care and cosmetic brands, was where I headed as I knew I would just
find what I was looking for and MeMeMe was what I was after.
I picked
up four items that I knew I could use on a daily bases, running around after
the boys and hubby. I wanted products that I could use to create a very natural
day time look in less the five minutes.
Flawless Tinted Moisturiser
“Silky
touch tinted moisturiser rich in light-reflecting pearlescent pigments and
microspheres to give effortlessly over skin to deliver a flawless finish. Enriched
with nourishing Jojoba Oil and SPF15 to give your skin essential moisture and
UV protection.”
I was very
surprised by this, as I have tried tinted moisturisers in the past and never
liked them because they were either a heavy tint that was orangey/yellowy or there
was no tint at all when applied.
With MeMeMe Flawless Tinted Moisturiser the texture is silky smooth and light that
offers a good descent coverage that gives a slight dewy finish. It can be
applied quickly with the finger tips or if you had time, lightly buffed on with
a foundation brush. The wearability last all day without any touching up and
with a SPF 15 you are truly covered and protected.
Available
in 4 shades, the one I picked up is 02 Beige Blush priced at €12.50
This is a
two step concealer kit with a “Hydrating
cream concealer used to hide sneaky tell-tale dark circles and blemishes before
setting it in place with the light-weight mattifying powder. This
essential compact pot, complete with mirror, offers on-the-spot action for
girls on-the-go, so you have no excuse to look anything but ravishing”.
I’m going to be honest here, when I first tried this I thought I’m after wasting money buying this, I found it to be very light and not sticking to my skin. Now I didn’t want to write it off there and then so I took my time and had a wee play around and found that applying with a small concealer brush, waiting a few seconds, reapply I was able to build up coverage and then set with the mattifying powder which is finely milled allowing the concealer to last.
I love
that it comes with a little mirror handy when out and about if you need to
reapply or touch up areas that have faded with rubbing/touching. The only
drawback is the amount of mattifying powder you get, I’m almost half way though
after a few weeks.
Available
in 3 shades priced at €8.50 The shade I picked up was the Nude.
Light Me Up Lip Gloss
“High
shine lip colour complete with a mirror on the side and ingenious light-up lip
applicator for easy on-the-go application – perfect for lips and love the
spotlight! Contains plumping agents for volume and has high-moisturising
properties to help the smooth lip contours”.
I’m loving
this lip gloss (Just like the GOSH
Light N’ Shine) with tiny micro shimmers that you barely see, it’s a non
sticky gloss which is what I love; hate that tacky feel you sometimes get. On
application you get this menthol tingling sensation with a slight smell and
taste of mint with a high gloss finish. The
wearability is pretty long lasting and best of all has very little transfer.
The applicator is a sponge tip again something I hate, but quite slim and
surprisingly gives a little more precise application, the packaging has a tiny
mirror down one side with two tiny LED lights in the lid, handy for when out
and about.
Available
in 9 shades priced at €8.50 The shade
I got was a very natural colour No.2 Illuminate.
Nail Collection Long Lasting Gloss
“Inspired
by the inherent qualities possessed by a true free spirit, each and every gloss
tells a story. Features maxi-brush technology to guarantee a seamless and
professional one-stroke application”.
I know I
said at the beginning of the summer I wasn’t going to spend big money on nail
polishes and boy I’m glad I didn’t keep that promise with this nail polish.
Over all I
was quite pleased with this brand as you can see from the before and after
pictures and would recommend it, the packaging is very chic but there is a
slight trend across this brand that is very similar to some of the high end brands
but very adorable, so if you see it do pick some up because I know I will.
Please Note the above products was gifted to me by a family member
