Christian
Louboutin launches Tape à l’Oeil a new eye makeup collection.
Iconic red
sole designer Christian
Louboutin is set to launch a new eyeshadow collection
Tape à
l’Oeil meaning “eye-catching”,
is the very first eye makeup collection from the creative genius.
A collection,
featuring six matte and six metallic shades, the Tape à l’Oeil
eyeshadow is said to be “pigment-rich,
oil-based, gel-like formula that glides on smoothly like a fluid and sets to a
super-fine, powdery finish. Smudge and smear resistant, the eyeshadow are
applied directly from the tube, using a sleek, elongated wand, or using
fingertips to dab pigment onto the lids”.
"Eyes reveal—they have a life; they carry one’s life; what has
happened in your life. It is through the eyes that you see someone’s
personality." – Christian Louboutin
Matte Nude Eye Colors
Designed to
help recreate Christian’s favourite
beauty look — bare lids defined with liner — as worn by one of his muses,
Nefertiti. The sultry nude shades create a sophisticated and timeless look,
perfecting the lid and magnifying its natural beauty. Apply a skin-matching
shade to perfect lids, a contrasting one for brightening effect, or use as a
primer and then layer with another nude or metallic eye color. The shades are named
after important women in Louboutin’s
life.
- Lea — cream nude
- Lola — pale pink nude
- Mariza — plum brown nude
- Zefira — deep taupe nude
- Daria — camel nude
- Louana — cognac nude
Metallic Eye Colours
Inspired by
spikes, 70s style glitter tissé fabrics, and the designer’s indulgent use of
strass. This range of jewel tones can be used all over lid as an eyeshadow or
applied graphically to redefine the eye shape. It can also be combined with
matte nudes for a frost-like effect. Each of the shades are named after
semi-precious stones as it is said that Christian
Louboutin is an avid gem collector.
- Morganite — rose gold
- Pyrite — bronze brown
- Carnelian — rich wine
- Andalusite — shimmering sea-green
- Iolite — iridescent blue
- Saphire Noir — golden black
